To increase the economic value of bamboo, a variety of craft items made from this material. If the items was originally made only as a household, currently  a variety decorations of houses also made from bamboo.
Along with the success of the various scedul guidance, the plaited bamboo has been  penetrate to  abroad markets. Although the scale is so far less than furniture industry, handicrafts plaited bamboo spread very evenly in Jepara. Almost in every district.

One of Factor that also support the craft is able to penetrate the  overseas market is a creating product specification. Goods which made in one village are different from the other. 

Rattan handicraft  From Teluk Wetan

In Jepara, a variety of products with rattan raw materials can be found in the Teluk Wetan, Brantaksekaraji, Kendeng Sidialit and Kendeng Sidigede, Welahan district. Variety of goods ranging from furniture such as desks, chairs, beds and parcel shelves, and the various tools can be found in the form of one piece or combined with the other raw materials.
Until 2004, various items of this rattan process has ben process by arround 2.444 skilled workers. With so many skilled workers who also provided by natural talent, the benefits of quality assurance continues to make goods with a conventional design, they also capable to design according buyers demand.
In fact, the buyer of these goods continue growing, both from local and abroad market. The foreign buyer lately searching the goods with their own way directly to come to the village. Generally buyer have a new design for the goods ordered.
This phenomenon, besides can be ability to hone workers also caused  additional a number of business units. In 2001 there are 325 business units established with investment of Rp. 79 million more able to produce 1,695,300 pieces of goods, the production volume of 1,785,960 units produced next year. Goods manufactured by this business unit with 343 investment Rp. 100 million. 

This amount is still growing. Have recorded 346 different business units of the scale has been established and able to sell 1,803,820 units of goods with a total investment reached almost Rp. 102 million. This value automatically going development of the production. Since 2001, the value of production reach until Rp. 1.9 billion, and Rp. 2.44 billion, and growing again to Rp. 2.16 billion in 2004.
